Warning: This post contains spoilers from season 2, section 8 of Departure weight.
Patricia Arquette breaks down the shift that occurs with her Steely Departure weight character.
When the audience first met Arquettes Harmony Cobel during season 1, the icy abolished floor leader at Lumon Industries was a loyal and dedicated employee. But after she was fired for breaking the company’s protocol in season 2, there is a new page that pops up.
This season she has released after encountering the personal life of Mark Scouts (Adam Scott) Outie. She had posed as his kitchen -sized wife Selvig and tried to manipulate him, which the board thought was unethical.
Cobel is offered an opportunity to return to Lumon, with a role in the newly formed departure council, but she (completely literally) goes away from it.
Viewers do not see much of Cobel again until section 8’s “Sweet Vitriol”, where Cobel visits his hometown.
She goes back to her childhood home in search of a certain article – her original drawings and patterns – which has been credited as invented by James Eagan (Michael Siberry), CEO of Lumon Industries and Father of Helena Eagan (Britt Lower).
At one point Cobel explains boldly “Lumon destroyed this city.”
“I think there is a dawn that comes across Cobel about the danger of this company and how Cobel is really insignificant,” Arquette, 56, tells people exclusively. “(They have) the kind of eligible personality that these guys have and how they all see, no matter how committed you have been to them.”

“So there are some of her who start listening to an instinct, which I don’t know she is always done. That kind of throwing her,” she continues.
Throughout section 8, Cobel receives repeated calls from Mark’s sister Devon Scout-Hale (Jen Tullock), who tries to help an unconscious mark after his side effect on the reintegration procedure. Former Lumon employee Asal Rawbi (Karen Aldridge), who performed the operation on Mark, previously made a reinterpretation procedure on his co-worker and friend Peter Kilmer (Yul Vazquez), who later died.
Devon has warned of Asal not to call Cobel because she “is lumon through and through.”
“She grew up by them. She is a soldier,” adds Asal, who also warned that Cobel would “hand over (us) to them.” Asal leaves the moment that Devon chooses to take the “risk” and calls.
Towards the end of section 8, Cobel finally answers Devon, who informs her about Marks reintegration and says they “want to try something else” because the procedure turns out to be too dangerous.
Devon then puts ground on the phone, and Cobel asks him to “tell everything.”
Shift Cobel experiences is something that Arquette, himself, can relate to. In fact, the Oscar Award winner tells people that she also met for a moment where she needed to go away after realizing her value.

“Besides, suddenly to see someone in a completely different light, all these things at once, and to see,” Oh, it can actually be a dangerous situation and maybe that’s not what I want, even if I advocate for myself. What is it about? “, She explains.” I have definitely been in that situation before and I would not want to be in that situation again. But I think it’s part of maturity. ”
Arquette adds, “You hit that wall and then you have to decide at that moment if you will believe in yourself and take good care of yourself, or if you will hold this pattern it will not work.”
