French president Emmanuel Macron have shot back to president Donald TrumpStatements on support for Ukraine and warned of peace negotiations that do not involve the invaded country.
In their Oval Office meeting on February 24, the two presidents discussed Russia and Ukraine’s three-year-long war, which bears the financial responsibility for delivering assistance to Ukraine. President Trump, 78, claimed that customs would fall into European countries, which Macron counteracted by saying that Europe already contributes more than half of all relief efforts.
“I support the idea of having Ukraine, first to be compensated because it is those who have (lost) many of their citizens, and they are destroyed by these attacks,” Macron said.
“Just so you understand, Europe lends the money to Ukraine. They get their money back,” Trump said in the meeting.
Macron then extended his left hand and placed it on Trump’s arm.

“No, in fact, to be sincere, we paid 60% of the total effort. And it was through – as the US – loans, guaranteed contributions and we gave real money, to be clear,” Macron said, and canceled Trump.
“We have frozen assets of $ 230 billion in Europe, Russian assets,” continued the French president. “… if at the end of the day, in the negotiations we would have with Russia, are ready to give it to us (then) super, it will be a loan at the end of the day and Russia will have paid for it. ”
“If you believe it is okay with me,” Trump replied.
On the same day, at the UN General Assembly, the United States voted in Tandem with North Korea, Russia and 15 other countries against a resolution that condemned Russia’s aggression and demanded the removal of its troops from Ukraine, while 93 other countries supported European-elaborate resolution.

In an interview with Fox News “Special Report” later on Monday, Macron issued a word of caution to Trump – which the US president conducts peace negotiations without involving Ukraine, and in the midst of his proposal that the United States will provide support in exchange for Ukrainian resources.
“I think President Trump’s arrival is a gaming exchanger. And I think he has the US’s deterrent capacity to re -enter with Russia,” Macron said. “We want peace. And I believe President Trump’s initiative is very positive.”
“But my message was to say,” be careful “, because we need something essential for Ukraine,” he added.
