Three officers are dead and two are in critical condition after shots were fired while responding to an investigation in York County, PA, Wednesday, September 17.

A representative of York County Office of Emergency Management told reporters At 14:10, local time, York County received 9-1-1 reports of a “Police Extension in North Codorus Township.”

After the conversation, “many police officers and EMS units responded on stage,” said the representative.

Colonel Christopher L. Paris, the Commissioner of Pennsylvania State Police, later said in a press conference The fact that there are “many details” officials is not prepared to release, given the ongoing nature of the investigation.

“As having said, we would like to advise society that there is no current active threat,” he said. “The situation today involved law enforcement agencies that were taken care of. I can confirm that the shooter is dead.”

“I can confirm that there were five law enforcement authorities that were shot today – three deadly (and) two that were transported here to Wellspan in York,” added Paris. “They are currently listed in critical but stable condition.”

Paris retains confirmed the departments that the deceased and injured belong to at the request of the district lawyer.

While the incident is being investigated by Pennsylvania State Police Department, Paris said the officers were on the scene “to follow up an investigation that began yesterday.”

Paris did not prepare the investigation but said it was “domestic -related” and that police shot the shooter.

In a statement shared with people, York County Office of Emergency Management said: “York County Commissioners monitors the situation carefully and prays for everyone involved.”

“We do not currently have any further details. All official statements will be released by law enforcement authorities leading the incident command on the scene,” the statement said.

On one statement about xPennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro said he had been informed about the situation and was on his way to York County.

Gov Austin Davis also released a statement on x: “Please send prayers to the officers and those involved in shooting in York County. When we learn more, follow all the guidance from the police and stay away from the area.”

Pennsylvania Riksdag Tokat Dave Sunday said at X.“I am aware of the ongoing situation in York County. I urge all residents to follow the instructions from local law enforcement. I am on my way to the area and ask for everyone involved.
