4 Death in Mother’s Day apartment building, jumping residents and trying to escape

Four people have died after a fire broke out in an apartment building in Milwaukee on Mother’s Day, the authorities have confirmed.

On the morning of Sunday, May 11, the fire ripped through a four-storey residential building in the city’s Concordia block, Milwaukee Fire Department confirmed in a Facebook post.

The American Red Cross, which helps the displaced or in need of support after the tragedy, said in a Facebook Consider that the event occurred near 27th Street and Highland Boulevard.

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic fire that occurred,” MFD wrote.

Firefighters who originally arrived on the stage were “long, far surpassed” by the flames, AP reported, with reference to Lipski.

One of the inhabitants of the building, James Rubinstein, reminded himself of escaping from the fire. “There was so much smoke. I climbed out of the yard with my cat in my backpack. (I) jumped to the ground floor and ran out,” Rubinstein said according to the outlet.

An investigation is ongoing and the reason’s cause is still announced. “We stand with our Milwaukee society at this time of grief and healing,” MFD ended in his Facebook post.
