1 Died, 11 injured during police involved shooting in South Carolina

One person is dead and almost a dozen people were injured during a shooting that involved the police in a popular tourist destination in South Carolina.

According to a police statement split on FacebookOfficers who were close to the 900 block in North Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach around at. 23:50 Local time on Saturday, April 26, saw a change of change between several people.

One person fired a weapon during the fight, police say, and one of the officers on the scene “responded by releasing their firearm.”

The police said the person shot by an officer died of their injuries. Eleven other people have reported that they were injured and are currently receiving medical treatment. The officer who released his gun was not injured.

The Post and courier Reported that Skytte took place near where the police are stationed under the city’s emergency vehicle plan. Some of Myrtle Beach’s 9th and 8th Avenyer, as well as North 16th Avenue to 9th Avenue, are blocked every Friday and Saturday night, and officers patrol the area during the hectic summer season.

Myrtle Beach Police Department (MBPD) and South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) have asked the public to share information or videos taken for shooting on April 26.

“We continue to remind those who may have information or video films related to this incident to arrive. Information can be shared with Sled or Myrtle Beach Police Department of 843-918-1382,” wrote the Department on Facebook.

“Our hearts and continued prayers are with all those affected, as are their loved ones during this difficult time,” added MBPD.
